Shinpei Tokiwa is one of my favorite novelist, essayist, translator and editor. I always sympathize with his works. Actually, I have many books by him. On January 13th I came across his book at a used book store in Shimokitazawa and bought it. And on 22nd January, 9 days later at that time, he passed away…I felt so sad and it was a strange coincidence.
